Many Obvious Blessings

We often take things for granted.

Allah states in Quran, people would rejoice when they are blessed with things they love and they will complain when they are afflicted with pain or not given minor blessings.

Isn’t it true? Let’s think about it one by one…

If you analyze yourself first, ponder upon how we carry out our daily tasks, how our muscles work in accordance to the way we synchronise them with our chores, or how we utilize just mere sense of smell, sight, taste etc, think of how we munch the food and never care about how it is swallowed, digested and absorbed?

See how our heart beats on its own- nonstop- without letting you know, since the fifth week while you were in your mommy’s tummy till the day you die? It creates its impulses, pumps blood so forcefully to reach the extremities of your body you only realise it when you run a mile or get angry at someone maybe…

Just check the miracles of the nervous system how we integrate our thinking process, how we sharply assess surroundings, maintain our balances while we walk, how we feel the intensity of pressure, touch, pain etc and how the nerves intermingle the signals so frequently and quickly in the speed of light so you get these senses accurately.

In Arabic transliteration, the word “Rizq” has been derived from the root words, “ر-ز-ق” which literary means “provision, livelihood, earnings, means of living, subsistence, income, wealth, the bounty of Allah.

It was Allah, Ar-Raziq, who ordered the pen to write provision for the creation, fifty thousand years before the creation of the heavens and the earth. “Allah wrote down the Rizq of the creation 50,000 years before He created the heavens and the earth.” [Sahih Muslim, 2156]

Even if you’re eating once a day half a tummy, you’re way better and much blessed than half of the world’s population today.

If you are given a comfy, cosy warm bed… it’s a blessing.

If you have relations (parents, next to kin, spouse, etc) who care for you, who are equally passionate about your dreams, who are there in your thick and thin… it’s a blessing.

If you have an upper giving hand rather than in a state of begging… it’s a blessing.

If you can move, blink, grin, use all your senses to a good extent, and even breath on your own… it’s a blessing.

These were just a few of the thousands of examples I stated. The things we take for granted are so around us! They all come under the heading of Rizq, a blessing we consider so minimal.

Providence of rizq is a promise Allah SWT has kept to Himself. He assures us:

فَوَرَبِّ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ إِنَّهُ لَحَقٌّ مِّثْلَ مَا أَنَّكُمْ تَنطِقُونَ

“Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth – just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking.” [Quran, Adh-Dhariyat 51:23]

I’ll take a bit more time, if you are a student of Arabic grammar or have any know-how then observe how Allah added the letter ‘Laam’ before the word ‘Haqq’ (truth) in the above-mentioned ayah from Surah Adh Dhariyat. In Arabic, if the letter ‘Laam’ appears before a word, it refers to certainty, assurance and assertiveness. So, it is for a surety that Rizq is from the skies.

What do we have to do?

1. Thank Allah SWT: for every second of life, you are living as a person. He has allowed you to sit back and realise your value as a human, having superiority over all of His creations. Aren’t you worth it?

“Alhamdulilah alaa kulle haal”

– All praise to Allah SWT in every situation.

2. Strive Hard: the key to accomplishing your dreams? Keep trying and getting up every time you fall… and each time learn new lessons.

3. Spend wisely: this doesn’t mean you don’t spend at all on your spouse, kids or for yourself. Keep a balance and set priorities.

4. Never underestimate the blessings of others: precisely, don’t get jealous. What you have been provided was destined for you. What others got, is what they deserved for their account of Rizq in this world. You never had a share in it either way…

5. Key to increase Rizq? Be very, very conscious of keeping a record of your prayers on time. Value the time you have with Allah SWT, He is Ar. Razzaq after all! Also, do Astaghfaar as much as possible, the major way to multiply rizq abundantly.

6. Never complain of your problems EXCEPT to Allah SWT: fact, no? People take advantage of your weary feelings and hardly anyone responds sincerely. Make Allah SWT your best friend, even if you have to cry, demand, argue, crave for something – ask Him away! He loves you more than your mum, doesn’t He?

There, I’ve said alot, yet much remains!

One of the dua I came across recently, understanding its translation, it made me fell in love with it!A dua, necessary for us, in every relation with living or non-living things which we hold passionately to ourselves. It, for some reason, gives you a feeling of completely devoting yourself to Allah SWT and makes you think of the quote when Allah SWT says, “I will take from you (test you with the love of) everything that you love and then test you to see if you still believe in me..” so why not ask Allah SWT to make us love that which HE loves too… and much more.. inshaaAllah!So, lets look at the duas below.

Abû Hurayrah relates that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Allah will ask on the Day of Judgment: ‘Where are those who loved each other for the sake of My glory? Today, – on a day when there is no shade but mine – I shall shade them with My shade.” [Sahîh Muslim (2566)]

There are billions of quotes about knowledge stated by many famous people we know… I could go on.

Do you know what Prophet Muhammad ﷺ told us about the person who seeks knowledge?

1. Abu Adarda R.A said, “I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, ‘A person who walks towards or looks out for the path of knowledge (of deen) then Allah SWT eases his way towards Jannah; and the Angels spread there wings for him in happiness; and every thing in the heavens and earth, even the fishes in the sea ask for his forgiveness; and the Aalim is superior over the Aabid, and the Ulema are heirs of Anbiya; the Anbiya do not leave behind in their legacy dirhams / deenar but they leave behind knowledge– so whomever gains the knowledge has indeed gain a big part of virtue”
2. Abu Huraira R.A is reported to have said, ” The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, ‘When a person dies his deeds/actions are finished except for thre things; Sadqa-e-Jariyah, a knowledge that is of advantage to others or a pious offspring who keeps praying for the departed soul‘ “.

Thats amaIng isn’t it? SubhaanAllah.

الله راذق

پاکستان بننے سے قبل سندھ کے ایک قدیمی شہر میں ایک حکیم صاحب ہوا کرتے تھے، جن کا مطب ایک پرانی سی عمارت میں ہوتا تھا۔حکیم صاحب روزانہ صبح مطب جانے سے قبل بیوی کو کہتے کہ جو کچھ آج کے دن کے لیے تم کو درکار ہے ایک چٹ پر لکھ کر دے دو۔ بیوی لکھ کر دے دیتی۔ آپ دکان پر آ کر سب سے پہلے وہ چٹ کھولتے۔ بیوی نے جو چیزیں لکھی ہوتیں۔ اُن کے سامنے اُن چیزوں کی قیمت درج کرتے، پھر اُن کا ٹوٹل کرتے۔ پھر اللہ سے دعا کرتے کہ یااللہ! میں صرف تیرے ہی حکم کی تعمیل میں تیری عبادت چھوڑ کر یہاں دنیا داری کے چکروں میں آ بیٹھا ہوں۔ جوں ہی تو میری آج کی مطلوبہ رقم کا بندوبست کر دے گا۔ میں اُسی وقت یہاں سے اُٹھ جائوں گا اور پھر یہی ہوتا۔ کبھی صبح کے ساڑھے نو، کبھی دس بجے حکیم صاحب مریضوں سے فارغ ہو کر واپس اپنے گائوں چلے جاتے۔

ایک دن حکیم صاحب نے دکان کھولی۔ رقم کا حساب لگانے کے لیے چِٹ کھولی تو وہ چِٹ کو دیکھتے کے دیکھتے ہی رہ گئے۔ ایک مرتبہ تو ان کا دماغ گھوم گیا۔ اُن کو اپنی آنکھوں کے سامنے تارے چمکتے ہوئے نظر آ رہے تھے لیکن جلد ہی انھوں نے اپنے اعصاب پر قابو پا لیا۔ آٹے دال وغیرہ کے بعد بیگم نے لکھا تھا، بیٹی کے جہیز کا سامان۔ کچھ دیر سوچتے رہے پھر باقی چیزوں کی قیمت لکھنے کے بعد جہیز کے سامنے لکھا ’’یہ اللہ کا کام ہے اللہ جانے۔‘‘

ایک دو مریض آئے ہوئے تھے۔ اُن کو حکیم صاحب دوائی دے رہے تھے۔ اسی دوران ایک بڑی سی کار اُن کے مطب کے سامنے آ کر رکی۔ حکیم صاحب نے کار یا صاحبِ کار کو کوئی خاص توجہ نہ دی کیونکہ کئی کاروں والے ان کے پاس آتے رہتے تھے۔

دونوں مریض دوائی لے کر چلے گئے۔ وہ سوٹڈبوٹڈ صاحب کار سے باہر نکلے اور سلام کرکے بنچ پر بیٹھ گئے۔ حکیم صاحب نے کہا کہ اگر آپ نے اپنے لیے دوائی لینی ہے تو ادھر سٹول پر آجائیں تاکہ میں آپ کی نبض دیکھ لوں اور اگر کسی مریض کی دوائی لے کر جانی ہے تو بیماری کی کیفیت بیان کریں۔

وہ صاحب کہنے لگے حکیم صاحب میرا خیال ہے آپ نے مجھے پہچانا نہیں۔ لیکن آپ مجھے پہچان بھی کیسے سکتے ہیں؟ کیونکہ میں ۱۵، ۱۶ سال بعد آپ کے مطب میں داخل ہوا ہوں۔ آپ کو گزشتہ ملاقات کا احوال سناتا ہوں پھر آپ کو ساری بات یاد آجائے گی۔ جب میں پہلی مرتبہ یہاں آیا تھا تو وہ میں خود نہیں آیا تھا۔ خدا مجھے آپ کے پاس لے آیا تھا کیونکہ خدا کو مجھ پر رحم آگیا تھا اور وہ میرا گھر آباد کرنا چاہتا تھا۔ ہوا اس طرح تھا کہ میں لاہور سے میرپور اپنی کار میں اپنے آبائی گھر جا رہا تھا۔ عین آپ کی دکان کے سامنے ہماری کار پنکچر ہو گئی۔

ڈرائیور کار کا پہیہ اتار کر پنکچر لگوانے چلا گیا۔ آپ نے دیکھا کہ میں گرمی میں کار کے پاس کھڑا ہوں۔ آپ میرے پاس آئے اور آپ نے مطب کی طرف اشارہ کیا اور کہا کہ ادھر آ کر کرسی پر بیٹھ جائیں۔ اندھا کیا چاہے دو آنکھیں۔ میں نے آپ کا شکریہ ادا کیا اور کرسی پر آ کر بیٹھ گیا۔

ڈرائیور نے کچھ زیادہ ہی دیر لگا دی تھی۔ ایک چھوٹی سی بچی بھی یہاں آپ کی میز کے پاس کھڑی تھی اور بار بار کہہ رہی تھی ’’چلیں ناں، مجھے بھوک لگی ہے۔ آپ اُسے کہہ رہے تھے بیٹی تھوڑا صبر کرو ابھی چلتے ہیں۔

میں نے یہ سوچ کر کہ اتنی دیر سے آپ کے پاس بیٹھا ہوں۔ مجھے کوئی دوائی آپ سے خریدنی چاہیے تاکہ آپ میرے بیٹھنے کو زیادہ محسوس نہ کریں۔ میں نے کہا حکیم صاحب میں ۵،۶ سال سے انگلینڈ میں ہوتا ہوں۔ انگلینڈ جانے سے قبل میری شادی ہو گئی تھی لیکن ابھی تک اولاد کی نعمت سے محروم ہوں۔ یہاں بھی بہت علاج کیا اور وہاں انگلینڈ میں بھی لیکن ابھی قسمت میں مایوسی کے سوا اور کچھ نہیں دیکھا۔

آپ نے کہا میرے بھائی! توبہ استغفار پڑھو۔ خدارا اپنے خدا سے مایوس نہ ہو۔ یاد رکھو! اُس کے خزانے میں کسی شے کی کمی نہیں۔ اولاد، مال و اسباب اور غمی خوشی، زندگی موت ہر چیز اُسی کے ہاتھ میں ہے۔ کسی حکیم یا ڈاکٹر کے ہاتھ میں شفا نہیں ہوتی اور نہ ہی کسی دوا میں شفا ہوتی ہے۔ شفا اگر ہونی ہے تو اللہ کے حکم سے ہونی ہے۔ اولاد دینی ہے تو اُسی نے دینی ہے۔

مجھے یاد ہے آپ باتیں کرتے جا رہے اور ساتھ ساتھ پڑیاں بنا رہے تھے۔ تمام دوائیاں آپ نے ۲ حصوں میں تقسیم کر کے ۲ لفافوں میں ڈالیں۔ پھر مجھ سے پوچھا کہ آپ کا نام کیا ہے؟ میں نے بتایا کہ میرا نام محمد علی ہے۔ آپ نے ایک لفافہ پر محمدعلی اور دوسرے پر بیگم محمدعلی لکھا۔ پھر دونوں لفافے ایک بڑے لفافہ میں ڈال کر دوائی استعمال کرنے کا طریقہ بتایا۔ میں نے بے دلی سے دوائی لے لی کیونکہ میں تو صرف کچھ رقم آپ کو دینا چاہتا تھا۔ لیکن جب دوائی لینے کے بعد میں نے پوچھا کتنے پیسے؟ آپ نے کہا بس ٹھیک ہے۔ میں نے زیادہ زور ڈالا، تو آپ نے کہا کہ آج کا کھاتہ بند ہو گیا ہے۔

میں نے کہا مجھے آپ کی بات سمجھ نہیں آئی۔ اسی دوران وہاں ایک اور آدمی آچکا تھا۔ اُس نے مجھے بتایا کہ کھاتہ بند ہونے کا مطلب یہ ہے کہ آج کے گھریلو اخراجات کے لیے جتنی رقم حکیم صاحب نے اللہ سے مانگی تھی وہ اللہ نے دے دی ہے۔ مزید رقم وہ نہیں لے سکتے۔ میں کچھ حیران ہوا اور کچھ دل میں شرمندہ ہوا کہ میرے کتنے گھٹیا خیالات تھے اور یہ سادہ سا حکیم کتنا عظیم انسان ہے۔ میں نے جب گھر جا کربیوی کو دوائیاں دکھائیں اور ساری بات بتائی تو بے اختیار اُس کے منہ سے نکلا وہ انسان نہیں کوئی فرشتہ ہے اور اُس کی دی ہوئی ادویات ہمارے من کی مراد پوری کرنے کا باعث بنیں گی۔ حکیم صاحب آج میرے گھر میں تین پھول اپنی بہار دکھا رہے ہیں۔

ہم میاں بیوی ہر وقت آپ کے لیے دعائیں کرتے رہتے ہیں۔ جب بھی پاکستان چھٹی آیا۔ کار اِدھر روکی لیکن دکان کو بند پایا۔ میں کل دوپہر بھی آیا تھا۔ آپ کا مطب بند تھا۔ ایک آدمی پاس ہی کھڑا ہوا تھا۔ اُس نے کہا کہ اگر آپ کو حکیم صاحب سے ملنا ہے تو آپ صبح ۹ بجے لازماً پہنچ جائیں ورنہ اُن کے ملنے کی کوئی گارنٹی نہیں۔ اس لیے آج میں سویرے سویرے آپ کے پاس آگیا ہوں۔

محمدعلی نے کہا کہ جب ۱۵ سال قبل میں نے یہاں آپ کے مطب میں آپ کی چھوٹی سی بیٹی دیکھی تھی تو میں نے بتایا تھا کہ اس کو دیکھ کر مجھے اپنی بھانجی یاد آرہی ہے۔

حکیم صاحب ہمارا سارا خاندان انگلینڈ سیٹل ہو چکا ہے۔ صرف ہماری ایک بیوہ بہن اپنی بیٹی کے ساتھ پاکستان میں رہتی ہے۔ ہماری بھانجی کی شادی اس ماہ کی ۲۱ تاریخ کو ہونا تھی۔ اس بھانجی کی شادی کا سارا خرچ میں نے اپنے ذمہ لیا تھا۔ ۱۰ دن قبل اسی کار میں اسے میں نے لاہور اپنے رشتہ داروں کے پاس بھیجا کہ شادی کے لیے اپنی مرضی کی جو چیز چاہے خرید لے۔ اسے لاہور جاتے ہی بخار ہوگیا لیکن اس نے کسی کو نہ بتایا۔ بخار کی گولیاں ڈسپرین وغیرہ کھاتی اور بازاروں میں پھرتی رہی۔ بازار میں پھرتے پھرتے اچانک بے ہوش ہو کر گری۔ وہاں سے اسے ہسپتال لے گئے۔ وہاں جا کر معلوم ہوا کہ اس کو ۱۰۶ ڈگری بخار ہے اور یہ گردن توڑ بخار ہے۔ وہ بے ہوشی کے عالم ہی میں اس جہانِ فانی سے کوچ کر گئی۔

اُس کے فوت ہوتے ہی نجانے کیوں مجھے اور میری بیوی کو آپ کی بیٹی کا خیال آیا۔ ہم میاں بیوی نے اور ہماری تمام فیملی نے فیصلہ کیا ہے کہ ہم اپنی بھانجی کا تمام جہیز کا سامان آپ کے ہاں پہنچا دیں گے۔ شادی جلد ہو تو اس کا بندوبست خود کریں گے اور اگر ابھی کچھ دیر ہے تو تمام اخراجات کے لیے رقم آپ کو نقد پہنچا دیں گے۔ آپ نے ناں نہیں کرنی۔ آپ اپنا گھر دکھا دیں تاکہ سامان کا ٹرک وہاں پہنچایا جا سکے۔

حکیم صاحب حیران و پریشان یوں گویا ہوئے ’’محمدعلی صاحب آپ جو کچھ کہہ رہے ہیں مجھے سمجھ نہیں آرہا، میرا اتنا دماغ نہیں ہے۔ میں نے تو آج صبح جب بیوی کے ہاتھ کی لکھی ہوئی چِٹ یہاں آ کر کھول کر دیکھی تو مرچ مسالہ کے بعد جب میں نے یہ الفاظ پڑھے ’’بیٹی کے جہیز کا سامان‘‘ تو آپ کو معلوم ہے میں نے کیا لکھا۔ آپ خود یہ چِٹ ذرا دیکھیں۔ محمدعلی صاحب یہ دیکھ کر حیران رہ گئے کہ ’’بیٹی کے جہیز‘‘ کے سامنے لکھا ہوا تھا ’’یہ کام اللہ کا ہے، اللہ جانے۔‘‘

محمد علی صاحب یقین کریں، آج تک کبھی ایسا نہیں ہوا تھا کہ بیوی نے چِٹ پر چیز لکھی ہو اور مولا نے اُس کا اسی دن بندوبست نہ کردیا ہو۔ واہ مولا واہ۔ تو عظیم ہے تو کریم ہے۔ آپ کی بھانجی کی وفات کا صدمہ ہے لیکن اُس کی قدرت پر حیران ہوں کہ وہ کس طرح اپنے معجزے دکھاتا ہے۔

حکیم صاحب نے کہا جب سے ہوش سنبھالا ایک سبق پڑھا کہ صبح ورد کرنا ہے ’’رازق، رازق، تو ہی رازق‘‘ اور شام کو ’’شکر، شکر مولا تیرا شکر۔‘‘
